We ranked 103rd this year in the Capital 500 survey published annually by Capital Magazine. We have been on the rise for the last 5 years in the list, which is ranked according to the net sales revenues of companies in 2023.
Companies from 37 sectors took part in the survey, and based on the number of companies, energy-oil companies with 60 companies, automotive companies with 58 companies and food and beverage companies with 56 companies took their places at the top this year. Looking at the sectoral distribution in terms of turnover, 21.2% of the total turnover was realized by energy-oil companies. The automotive sector ranked 2nd with a share of 12.9%, while the retail sector ranked 3rd with a share of 8%.
244 companies on the list are based in Istanbul and their share in total turnover has increased to 62.1% compared to 59.5% of last year. This year's performance has managed to surpass the 60.5% level in 2020.
Youngest in the Top 500 List
One fifth of the Capital 500 consists of “young” companies aged 20 and below. Moreover, the number of young companies increases every year. While there were 95 companies under the age of 20 on the list last year, this year there are 103 companies aged 20 and below. 23 companies are under 10 years old. The youngest companies in the league of giants are Doğan Trend Otomotiv and Heska Motorlu Araçlar, which are 4 years old. Reaching turnovers of billions of TL, these companies stand out from the competition with their rapid growth performance within a short period of time.
KoçZer, one of the young companies, entered the Capital 500 list for the first time after its establishment in 2019 at 136th place. Continuing its upward momentum in the list in the following years, KoçZer ranked 125th in 2020, 120th in 2021 and 115th in 2022. This year, it continued its rise and ranked 103rd.
